Foodie ideas

Wine...good for more than just drinking!

Boozy berry topping

1 can of blackberry pie filling

2 tbs brown sugar

1 tsp lemon juice

splash of Black Powder (or more to taste)

Empty the can into a small saucepan. Add brown sugar and lemon juice, simmer over medium/low heat, stirring often. Once warm, add wine, stir until incorporated. Cool before serving over ice cream or cheesecake. Serve warm on pancakes or waffles.

BBQ sauce base

1 cup ketchup, no sugar or additives preferred

1/4 cup Foofurah

1 TBS spicy brown mustard

1 1/2 TBS brown sugar

splash of Worcestershire sauce

Put all ingredients in a small saucepan and heat on simmer to incorporate all together. This is a base recipe. If you prefer sweeter, add more brown sugar. For a smoky flavor, add 1/2 tsp liquid smoke or for spicier add 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes.

Peach topping

3 fresh peaches

2 tbs butter

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup Peach Sunset

Melt butter in pan. Add peaches and cook until softened. Add in Peach Sunset. Give the wine a few minutes to soak through peaches, then add brown sugar. Once the peaches are glazed with the melted sugar, add in honey. Stir until everything is combined. Great topping for ice cream, cheesecake, and parfaits.
